Hogedal Furniture is a custom manufacturer, family owned and operated in Calgary, Alberta. Through five generations, the Mortensen family has been involved in the manufacturing of custom designed furniture. In 1884 Jacob Mortensen first opened his doors to his saddle making and upholstery shop in Denmark; in 1907, Ejvind Mortensen opened a little upholstery furniture factory in the town of Durup which is still owned and operated by the family today. In 1931, Kai Mortensen immigrated to Canada and started his own upholstery shop in Calgary. Foothills Upholstery, later known as Interiors by Kai Mortensen, had 45 years of successful manufacturing of custom upholstery and decorating services. In 1986 Hogedal Furniture first began manufacturing wood furniture for the office environment. By incorporating principles instilled by the five generations of family before them, Hogedal provides customers with a winning combination of quality products and excellent customer service.
